Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District Annual Spring Tree & Shrub Program
It’s again time to order your landscaing trees. The District offers a wide variety of deciduous and conifer species, with a variety of tree sizes and ages that allows you to select what’s right for your needs. We offer a range of quantities, from small amounts for the homeowner to large quantities for the landscaper or large parcel planter, at reduced costs to promote conservation plantings.
Landowners can choose from a wide variety of species of trees and shrubs and specialized packets such as Nut Tree, Flowering Tree & Shrub, Native Flowering and Butterfly. Other items available through the program are fruit trees, ground covers, fertilizer tablets, marking flags, tree protectors and wildlife habitat housing. For other specific tree or shrub species not mentioned above, please call us and inquire.
Trees and shrubs offered through the District program can be planted for a number of purposes including Christmas tree production, timber production, wildlife habitat, windbreaks, hedges, screens, streambank and road bank stabilization, and ornamentals.
To order, please contact the District Office at 845-292-6552, ext. 101, and request a brochure and order blank. Application deadline is Monday, April 9. Tree pickup is Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28, at the District Office.
