Sullivan County Soap Box Derby Heating Up
The Sullivan County Soap Box Derby is really heating up! There will be a truck leaving for Akron at the beginning of February to pick up cars purchased by Sullivan County residents and businesses over the last several months.
The following businesses have sponsored cars to race in the First Annual Sullivan County Soap Bax Derby:
Advanced Health & Medical, Carmine's Meat Market, Charlie Barbuti's Furniture, Cracolici's, First National Bank of Jeffersonville, Harris Funeral Home, Hillside Greenhouse, Liberty Fitness, Poley Paving, Rolling V and Thalmann's Service Center.
The following organizations have also sponsored cars: Liberty PBA, Liberty Rotary and Roscoe Chamber of Commerce.
Many businesses that have sponsored a car will be looking for racers to race on their behalf, so if you have a child between ages 7 and 16 who is interested in racing for a local business please check out the website that follows this article.
Reminder: This race is open to all Sullivan County residents, organizations and businesses. Memorial Day Weekend will be here before you know it so don't wait . . . once the cars arrive, there are construction clinics, practice races, and strategic planning.
