Holiday Shopping Bazaar Benefits Local Food Pantries
The Second Annual Holiday Shopping Bazaar will take place on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10AM – 5PM. This year, to accommodate the growing number of exhibitors and attendees, the Bazaar will be held in the spacious, enclosed tennis courts of Villa Roma in Callicoon, New York. (www.villaroma.com/directions/). The event is presented by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance of the Catskills and the Sullivan County Visitor’s Association.

Just two weeks prior Christmas and Chanukah (December 20-28), the Bazaar showcases the area’s most accomplished craftspeople, artist and designers. A special food section has been added featuring selections from the area’s best restaurants, specialty food companies and wineries.
For admission to the general exhibit, a five-dollar adult donation is recommended. Kids are free. Food vendors will sample without cost as well as charge separately.
Roberta Byron-Lockwood, President and CEO of the Sullivan County Visitors Association noted in a recent interview, “The Holiday Shopping Bazaar is a win-win scenario for all involved. Craftspeople throughout the Catskills get a wonderful opportunity to sell their merchandise at an important time of the year, the beneficiaries of this effort are the food pantries who are facing growing need and the Bazaar continues the Gay and Lesbian community’s record of service to the Catskills.”
In addition to the exhibits, a dynamic Silent Auction takes place throughout the day, featuring selections from craftspeople and artists as well as retailers and specialty shops. If last year is any indication, attendees can expect some exceptional treats at the silent auction—so come early, sample the best food around and hunt for bargains!
