helps Easter Seals’ Project Excel Reach Goal to Build New Playground
Date Set for July 9, 2011

Donation was made possible through funds raised from the Catskill Shopper’s “Cutest Kid Contest” earlier this spring. The donation will be used towards the building of a new playground taking place next month.
Easter Seals Project Excel is looking forward to the summer with great anticipation. The program, which serves 100 four year old Universal Pre-kindergarten children from the Monticello School District (free of charge to families) and 40 disabled pre-school students from Sullivan County will be building a playground this summer.
Easter Seals in Monticello has been in existence for approximately 9 years. Throughout this time, staff and families have been diligently fund raising for the purpose of providing a playground. With the generous donation from the Catskill Shopper and their "Cutest kid" contest, Easter Seals has reached the goal amount needed to build the playground.
Staff, parents, Easter Seals employees from New Hampshire and New York and community members will be gathering at Easter Seals on July 9, 2011 to build the playground with the supervision of the Parkitects Playground Company.
The children and families of Easter Seals extend an invitation to the community and staff at the Catskill Shopper to join us on that day to participate in the project or simply to view the results of their generosity. We are so thankful to have such a caring community.
